Grant funds will be distributed to fund removal of sea walls, minor bank re-shaping, placement of rip-rap, establishment of vegetative buffers and implementation of individual stormwater management plans.

Special Conditions: 1) Space between rip-rap to be filled with soil and vegetated to facilitate successful access of turtle hatchlings to water. Montello Lake P&R District: Lmi-Montello Lake Diagnostic Feasibility Study: The Montello Lake Protection and Rehab District proposes to conduct a Diagnostic Feasibility Study on their lake. This project will result in the development of a lake management plan while integrating all partners including the area community. This will be executed via the completion of a diagnostic/
feasibility study on the lake, watershed and tributaries; these elements will be developed and included: water quality monitoring on lakes in the Montello River Basin; water quality monitoring on six tributaries; flow monitoring on six tributaries; model tributary loads to the lake; land use impact assessment via SWAT modeling; internal loading evaluation; physical shoreline assessment; coordination and communications with all partners and public; management options and implementation plan.

Montello Lake P&R District: Lmi-Montello Lake Diagnostic Feasibility Study: The Montello Lake Protection and Rehab District proposes to conduct a Diagnostic Feasibility Study on their lake. This project will result in the development of a lake management plan while integrating all partners including the area community. This will be executed via the completion of a diagnostic/
feasibility study on the lake, watershed and tributaries; these elements will be developed and included: water quality monitoring on lakes in the Montello River Basin; water quality monitoring on six tributaries; flow monitoring on six tributaries; model tributary loads to the lake; land use impact assessment via SWAT modeling; internal loading evaluation; physical shoreline assessment; coordination and communications with all partners and public; management options and implementation plan.

Columbia County: Lmi-Tmdl Development-Phase Ii-Park Lake: Columbia County Land and Water Conservation Department will conduct phase 2 of its TMDL development program for Park Lake. This phase will focus on continued monitoring along with the use of a graduate student to conduct water quality modeling to allow for final development of a TMDL for Park Lake, a 303(d) listed lake. The objectives of this study are to quantify P export from the watershed, and link water quality with nutrient loss from the land. Project deliverables include 1) monitoring of wetland effectiveness by measuring upstream and downstream flow and concentration; 2) Field-scale Snap-Plus and watershed-scale modeling; 3) simulating water quality changes caused by wetlands in this watershed using Army Corp PRE-WET model; 4) continuation of water quality monitoring/data collection along with targeting water sample collection adjacent to wetlands; 5) information/education efforts throughout project; and 6) compilation, documentation, and recommendations of findings. Education efforts include a news release, providing updates and final presentation through regular and annual meetings of the Lake District.

Parker Lake Assoc., Inc.: Hlk-Parker Lake Fish Sticks: Parker Lake Association Inc. will implement best practices described in Wisconsin\2019s 2014-2017 Healthy Lakes Implementation Plan. Practices include: Installation of 8 fish stick clusters on the shoreline of Parker Lake.
The best practices require a contract to remain in effect for 10 years and must include minimum operation and maintenance requirements and data collection as described in grant condition #17. If best practice(s) are implemented on land owned by the grant Sponsor, this Lake Protection Grant Agreement serves as the contract. If best practice(s) are implemented on land other than the sponsor\2019s, a contract between the sponsor and landowner that abides by grant condition #16 is required.
The Department may require re-payment of project installation costs if the best practice is disturbed or removed. The Sponsor and/or the Department may perform site inspections and/or monitoring to ensure project success.
Deliverables: Best practice location and design information, if not included in the application; signed 10-year landowner contract; pre and post project installation photographs; summary of education activities and publicity/promotion of Healthy Lakes initiative, if applicable.
Special conditions: The state share of each best practice cannot exceed $1,000. The state share of grant administration and technical assistance costs may not exceed 10% of the grant award; technical assistance does not include implementation labor. Funding cannot be used for mitigation or regulatory compliance activities. Water regulation and/or county zoning permits must be issued before construction. The Healthy Lakes logo should be used for promotion and publicity, and DNR recognized as a funding source.

Project will include notification of riparian property whose property is in conformance with the buffer standard and that the buffer must stay in compliance with the buffer standard. Town Of New Chester: Mcginnis Lake Phase Iii- Report: The Town of New Chester proposes to work with the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and the Eau Galle Aquatic Ecology Laboratory to evaluate ground water inflow and establish a stage height recorders at the outflow of McGinnis Lake for determination of discharge from the lake between ice-out 2002 and 2004. This project will produce a final report of the findings of the above mentioned work. The Department will be provided with both a paper copy and electronic copy of the final report.

Village Of Oxford: Neenah/Oxford Lake Stormwater Mgt Plan Phase 1: The Village of Oxford includes major portions of Oxford and Neenah Lake drainage area. The Village desires to complete a storm water management plan in order to protect the Lakes from sediment and nutrient pollution. Activities included in Phase 1 include background data collection, coordination of meetings, field reconniscance, inventory existing drainage facilities, define the watershed, categorize present and future land uses, ID existing biological communities and conduct stormwater modeling. Village Of Oxford: Village Of Oxford Ordinance Implementation Project: The Village of Oxford proposes to implement a recent Storm Water management plan and to further protect its natural resource base by understanding and enforceing existing ordinances and drafting and adopting additional ordinances and protection measures. The project deliverables will include a report of exising ordinances; adopt the storm water management/erosion control ordinance; adopt a village zoning ordinance; amend, if appropriate, the village shoreland zoning ordinance; create an official zoning map; and create policies for regulatory enforcement and responsibility. The Village will supply the DNR with an electronic and hard copy of their report.

Adams County: Big Spring Creek Restoration: Adams Co., in conjunction with Wis. DNR, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, River Alliance of Wisconsin, USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, Trout Unlimited and the Fish America Foundation, proposes to remove a deteriorated, former Hydro electric dam on Big Spring Creek and to restore the creek to a riverine environment. Major project elements to include: 1) dam breach, dewatering of impoundment, removal of dam, 2) floodplain excavation, 3) channel restoration and bank revegetation, 4) culvert replacement.

Harry & Laura Nohr Chapter Of Trout Unlimite: Big Spring Branch Restoration Project: The Big Spring Branch cold water stream habitat restoration project presents opportunities for a diverse and dynamic protection and management program. Specific objectives include: 1) the recreation of overhead cover in the stream with structures that scour holes and add sinuosity to the stream; 2) installation of integrated stream bank stabilitation, shaping back steep banks, and 3) utilizing habitat techniques for non-game species, reptiles, amphibians, and plant communities.

Please note: Final report deliverables help us ensure that the grant has been satisfactorily completed, and that state dollars are being spent wisely. Every deliverable, no matter how minor, must be completed in order to receive full reimbursement for the state share of costs. Ranking questions used to obtain this award, and specific deliverables mentioned in your grant description, constitute final report deliverables. If any deliverable is not adequately provided in the final report, only partial reimbursement, at the department's discretion, will be made. The only exception will be if there is a well-justified and department-approved scope amendment.
